Having won over consumers with its award-winning retail practices, the Winning Group is now looking to improve its sustainability performance. The 116-year-old Australian retailer’s subsidiary brand Appliances Online recently won a number of awards at Australia Post’s Online Retail Industry Awards, including Customer Service Excellence, Best Pureplay Retailer, and Best Multichannel Retailer. Appliances Online was also named Best Online Shop for Electronics by the users of consumer comparison site Choice.

Winning Group is now turning its attention to sustainability to ensure its brands remain strong for years to come. They are planning to transform their operations over the next 10 years to become not only the best company for their customers, but for their customers’ communities and the planet as a whole. To reach this goal, the company has laid out several specific targets such as achieving net zero emissions, using 100% recycled packaging, and “embedding indigenous reconciliation, inclusion and diversity principles into business processes.”

The company experienced growth during the pandemic, as consumers turned to online channels for the things they normally shopped for in person, such as appliances. That growth, along with their partnership with Commonwealth Bank, has put them in a strong position to act on their sustainability goals.
