PopSockets makes empowering, fun, and expressive products that help people phone better. Due to the vast array of designs and uses, PopSockets appeals to smartphone users of all ages. Their primary target customer are middle-school girls (ages 11-13), aka Late Gen Z/Gen Alpha.
According to Insider Intelligence, Gen Z is the youngest, most ethnically diverse, and largest generation in American history, comprising 27% of the US population. Gen Z grew up with technology, the internet, and social media.
The customer tasked our team with developing a new POP display concept at retail. The main objective focused on a customized phone grip display that would hold a variety of product choices and fit on a Walmart 4-Way fixture. To drive awareness and ROI, the display had to leverage key brand attributes, appeal to shoppers, and maximize in-store effectiveness.
The brand wanted simplicity to attract, engage, and convert shoppers. Project objectives included;
•The 4-Way display had to hold 36 pieces of product, easily shoppable, and sturdy enough for restocking. •Image Theme: Simplicity - Usage of core brand colors, clean lines with an overall emphasis on contrast. •Retailer Requirements: The display must follow the Walmart guidelines and fit a 4-Way fixture. •Copy Theme: Simplicity – Core brand name, price/value, product usage instruction. •Copy Direction: Simplicity – Brand, price, product usage (Grip/Stand/Mount/Swap) •Sustainability is essential to the customer as 99% of their packaging is made from recycled and FSC-certified materials. The display needed to be made with recycled material that was also recyclable.
